Matrix Repatterning Therapy

Over the course of 14 months my then high school aged daughter sustained 3 concussions. The last and most devastating happened when she slipped on the ice and landed on the back of her head half way through her junior year of high school.

These injuries sidelined her from life for nearly 18 months. She suffered from crippling chronic migraines, vision problems, digestive issues, and autonomic nervous system problems. She could not read for more than 5 minutes and her language processing was affected.

She missed 50% of the last 3 semesters of high school. She was a 4.0 student taking IB, AP, and honors courses before her injuries. She was put on a 504 plan, essentials only curriculum, and given unlimited absences. Her high school bent over backwards to accommodate her injuries.

During this time, we worked with concussion specialists at the U of M and HCMC. After more than a year and seeing her get worse instead of better I started researching “alternative therapies” to heal concussions. By now my daughter was losing hope and 2 of the 8 medications she was prescribed had triggered suicidal thoughts. Drugs were definitely not the answer.

"Dr. Andy was the first doctor who talked TO my daughter instead of over her"

The 4th alternative therapy I found while reading “The Brain’s Way of Healing” by Dr. Norman Doidge. 16 months after her last concussion she had her first Matrix Repatterning appointment with Dr. Andy. He was the first doctor who talked TO my daughter instead of over her. She was instantly comfortable with him and although she was skeptical about “another” therapy she was willing to try.

We started seeing changes after her first appointment. Week one she was exhausted but slept better and for longer stretches. Week 2 she made it to school all 5 days. This was April and the first time that had happened since September.

Week 3 was hard but miraculous. For 17 months she had NO emotion. It was like living with a shell that looked like my daughter, but she wasn’t really in there. This week she exploded with anger, frustration, confusion and many others. I was crying and laughing at the same time! It took about 3 days to cycle through the emotional roller coaster.

Week 4 she actually did homework, lots of homework. She was focused and smiling! Around this time it occurred to her that she was having stretches of time without headache pain! Between week 4 and 5 she lost her flat affect I could see my daughter coming alive again.

"He rescued her from the chronic pain, despair, and the debilitating symptoms of her concussions."

Before April I had given up hope for her to go to college in the fall. She declined offers from her top 2 Universities because they were too far from home and she didn’t have a family support system in either city. She accepted an offer from a school 5 hours from home but an hour away from her older sister. I fully expected to have to defer enrollment for a year but over the next 4 appointments that completely changed. By the middle of July she told me she was well enough to start packing for school!

Today she is a junior in college working on her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a second major, Interdisciplinary Health Studies. She lives in a sorority with 42 other women, a far cry from day after day in a dark quiet room. I truly believe Dr. Andy saved my daughter’s life. He rescued her from the chronic pain, despair, and the debilitating symptoms of her concussions. We will be forever grateful for his kindness, compassion, professionalism, and dedication to healing concussions.

In 2004 I sustained three different close-range concussive blast waves from roadside bombs in Iraq. Because of the traumatic brain injuries my abilities to succeed in life had diminished and I was failing in many ways.

"I feel “normal” again."

After six Matrix Repatterning sessions with Dr. Stella, finally after all these years I feel “normal” again. I am functioning at the level I was prior to the concussions. I am dominating life and it feels great. Most significantly and most needed was the improvement of my short-and-long term memory, concentration, clear and precise thinking, word recall, and strangely a heightened awareness of my 5 senses.

"I am dominating life and it feels great."

Today, with my brain functioning properly I find joy in life. After years of attempted college courses, I just completed a full semester with ease. I am back!

Over 18 years of living with chronic pain throughout my body from several injuries, I spent countless dollars on chiropractic, physical therapy, and many other treatments. Nothing has helped me as much as Matrix Repatterning. It's such a miracle that I can't believe it's not available everywhere!

My son, Joey, suffered a significant Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in January, 2011. He was 11 years old and was at hockey practice and he was knocked over which resulted in Joey taking the entire fall to the back of his head. He was dazed and confused. Due to the TBI, Joey lost memory, skills and had significant pain. Joey reported that from the time of his fall, he had a constant “migraine” like headache.

As Joey was gaining skills and memory back, his headache was always present and intense. We tried many different medications to help relieve the headache with no success. We tried Hyperbaric Oxygen treatments, meditation, Qigong, massage, and modifying his environment to decrease light and sound. But still, nothing gave Joey any relief or even a bit of reprieve from the headache.

"Joey felt hopeless and started shutting down."

Joey felt hopeless and started shutting down. He was withdrawing from more situations due to his pain. Socially, he did not want to interact with friends or family. Joey spent most of his time alone in his room. He reported that he felt that no one believed his headache pain was real and he quit talking about it. Joey had given up on ever being headache free.

16 months into Joey’s recovery Matrix Repatterning Therapy was introduced to Joey. He was skeptical, and rightly so. No one, up to this point in time, was able to give him even 1 minute of reprieve from a constant, daily “migraine” like headache for over 16 months.

"Joey continued with Matrix Repatterning and the results were AMAZING."

After the first session, I started noticing differences in Joey. He was more interactive with our family and was actually seeking out family to talk and play with. Joey continued with Matrix Repatterning and the results were AMAZING. By the end of his sessions (4 total), Joey reported being headache free for the first time since his TBI.

Joey became more socially engaging and wanted to do more than just sit in his room. His tolerance for school went from just making it through a modified 3-hour day to full school days. It was the first time since his TBI that he was able to tolerate riding in a regular school bus, going to the school lunch room and participating in recess. Joey’s academic skills also improved at an astronomical rate from starting at a 1 st grade level to being caught up by the end of the 6th grade in the school year following Matrix Repatterning treatments. He also started calling his friends, joined baseball, went to movies and he started laughing again.

"I strongly feel that Matrix Repatterning Therapy alleviated Joey’s chronic headache that was the result of his TBI."

I strongly feel that Matrix Repatterning Therapy alleviated Joey’s chronic headache that was the result of his TBI. It was life changing for Joey. Matrix Repatterning Therapy gave my son the ability to live life as a 12-year old again. For that, I am forever grateful. Thanks to Andy Stella and Matrix Repatterning Therapy, Joey is pain free and able to live an active healthy life.

I would like to thank Dr. Andy Stella aka the “bone whisperer” for the miracle. Matrix Repatterning miracle relieved my body of 38 years of chronic neck pain, concussion symptoms, and headaches.

Using Matrix Repatterning Therapy, Dr. Andy was able to relieve my 17-year old son of concussion symptoms in 4 visits.

Prior to starting treatment with Dr. Andy, we had spent more than $15,000 and 6 months on medical and holistic concussion treatments and saw very minimal progress.

"Within weeks of completing MRT, my son was able to... be a normal teenager"

Within weeks of completing MRT, my son was able to go to his high school prom, take college entrance exams and be a normal teenager doing all things that he physically hadn’t been able to do for 7 long months.

In March, 2011 (written July 2014), I fell on the ice in front of my home. I lay there, unconscious, for 20 to 25 minutes. I don’t remember coming into the house, but I did, and later called my husband, hardly able to talk. He took me to the emergency room to find that I had a concussion. For THREE years I lived with bad balance problems, brain fog, headaches at least twice per week, a very sore spot in the back of my head, and flashing in my left eye. After going to a neurologist and my medical doctors, I found no help.

Recently, my hairdresser told me about Dr, Andy Stella (D.C.), who specializes in brain injuries. I didn’t hesitate, as all of the effects that I was experiencing were affecting my life. So, I made my appointment.

"By the 5th treatment I was over all of the side effects and I had my life back."

Dr. Stella told me that it would probably take 5 or 6 treatments. By the 5th treatment I was over all of the side effects and I had my life back. I have never been so happy to be able to spin again on the dance floor. What a joy, since we are dancers!

Also, I want to say that the treatments are very gentle. In fact, I often found myself going to sleep.

I will always be grateful to a Dr. that has brought me back my life. Thank you Dr. Stella!

"I move more freely now. I'm thrilled..."

Matrix Repatterning removed the tension of my old injuries. I move more freely now. I'm thrilled as I wasn't sure if I could improve more than I had. Matrix Repatterning took me beyond what I thought was possible in a very gentle way. It's unlike any other bodywork I've experienced. It's unusual in that the released tension stays released and hasn't come back. I'm not fighting against tension patterns any longer. It's like body de-cluttering.

In February of 2011, I was in a car accident. My car was totaled, and my head hit the driver’s side window hard enough to require 6 stitches. I do not remember the moment of impact.

I experienced short term memory loss and wasn’t able to process about 1 in 10 words that I heard. Working at a computer screen gave me terrible headaches, and I had a lot of difficulty focusing my attention and acquiring new information. I also had trouble sleeping and would get sleepy at the wrong time of day. I was constantly feeling dazed and not myself.

"I tried regular doctors and chiropractors but didn’t have success."

I tried regular doctors and chiropractors but didn’t have success. Everybody I worked with told me there is no treatment for concussion. But there is....

My symptoms continued for four months, and I started to despair of being pain-free. I remembered an extraordinary chiropractor I had success with in California and contacted her with my problem and she mentioned Certified Matrix Repatterning.

I found Dr. Stella on the Internet, looking for practitioners near me.

I saw the videos on Matrix Repatterning and went into my appointment feeling a little skeptical at how this simple method could be effective. I am so glad that I ignored that internal voice!

"The treatments themselves were pleasant, easy and relaxing."

The treatments themselves were pleasant, easy and relaxing. I felt better after each one and the improvement continued between treatments as well.

I only required 2 treatments of the head to address the concussion. After about 4 weeks, the headaches stopped, my thinking cleared up, and I was fully myself again. It happened so fast, I was amazed. The symptoms haven’t returned.I am so grateful for Dr. Stella’s help. I think I would have developed a full-blown depression if I hadn’t had treatment.

Concussion Therapy Treatment

After playing hockey most of my life I received my share of bumps and bruises not to mention several concussions. After receiving another concussion a year ago, I experienced several motor skill issues such as short term memory loss, hard time focusing, exhaustion, and a hard time keeping my balance.

"In fact after seeing Dr. Andy Stella I have to say my body has not felt this good since I was a teenager!"

I went to see Dr. Andy Stella at Beneserre, Body in Balance and after the first visit I started to see results. In fact after seeing Dr. Andy Stella I have to say my body has not felt this good since I was a teenager!

I highly recommend Dr Andy Stella to anyone that has experienced ANY physical trauma in their life. Thanks for giving me back control of my life again Dr Andy!

Concussion Therapy Treatment

I experienced a concussion about a year ago and for 8 months the doctors told me to take it easy and let it “heal.” During that 8 month period I had bouts of dizziness, difficulty concentrating, my head ached all the time, and felt like I was in a fog constantly.

Kay referred me to Dr Andy Stella. After just one treatment of Matrix-Repatterning Therapy I felt so much better. After 2 treatments I was no longer in a fog. After 3 treatments I could finally concentrate again! I feel like a “normal” person. I would recommend this treatment for anyone that has experienced head trauma! Amazing work Andy! Kudos!

AN EXAMPLE OF A TEAMWORK APPROACH:

At the age of fifteen, I fell off my horse and sustained a head and neck injury that changed my life. I had always been an active child and once I began riding horses I would ride for hours on end when not doing barn chores and running around. This all changed the day of my accident. I began suffering from perpetual migraines; my days were filled with me with lying on the floor trying to stave off the headaches that came with vertigo, vomiting and fatigue. I stopped seeing my friends and my saddles began collecting dust.

"Finally, after 5 years of little improvement, my parents took me to Mayo Clinic where they told me something was wrong but that they couldn’t help me."

My parents did everything they knew to do. They took me to the best neurologists who shook their heads and gave me an array of pills that did nothing but increase my nausea. In addition to the neurologists, I saw chiropractors, physical therapists, a biofeedback specialist and an acupuncturist. Finally, after 5 years of little improvement, my parents took me to Mayo Clinic where they told me something was wrong but that they couldn’t help me.

Five and a half years after my accident I had resigned myself that this was the way that life was going to be. It mainly consisted of studying for college exams and lying on the floor. Then my mom stumbled on to Kay and Dr. Stella’s website and she knew we needed to try this one last thing. I was skeptical, but warily agreed.

I saw Dr. Stella first and the difference was astounding. I began to be my chatty, high energy self – if only for part of the day at first – that I hadn’t been for years.

"Between the work that Dr. Stella and Kay did for me, I got my health back."

Between the work that Dr. Stella and Kay did for me, I got my health back. I began getting involved in organizations at my college, pursuing new friendships, interning at an eye clinic, and working out and enjoying all kinds of physical activity from surfing to hiking. Just yesterday I was rollerblading with some of my girlfriends and wiped out (in front of a crowd of people, naturally). And today? I feel great.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

How many visits will I need?

We will, of course, have to do a consultation and examination first before we determine how many visits you will need. Simpler adult cases may need 6 or 7 one-hour treatments and more complex cases may need 11 or 12. Very complex cases with high levels of impact injuries may certainly need more.

from impact. Dr. Norman Doidge, MD, renowned expert in brain neuroplasticity, recommends MRT as a “first intervention for most concussions” after he did a thorough personal investigation of this work. Other forms of concussion care are generally working on the symptoms of concussion. We, and Dr Doidge, say, relieve the physical strain pattern first.

How often do I need to come in?

Unlike other forms of care, MRT is not dependent on frequency. Most clients come in once per week and others more or less frequently depending on scheduling and financial factors. We’ve seen plenty of people who have scheduled every two or three weeks to be able to afford the work or because that is what the schedule allows.

Does it hurt to receive MRT?

MRT is very gentle hands-on bodywork therapy. Most clients, at first, find it hard to believe that such gentle treatment can make important changes in your body. However, it makes a profound change in your body as it relieves deep underlying tension patterns in your body and it can lead to temporary pain patterns as your body adjusts to the changes after treatment.

How is your work different than other forms of concussion care?

Remember, a concussion is an impact injury. We work on the premise that the impact injury had to change something physically for things to have changed. In other words, in order to have symptoms something had to change when the head impact happened. We call it a physical strain pattern and we relieve that strain pattern with a gentle, hands on technique that alleviates deep tension

Do you accept insurance as a form of payment?

No. This is a one-time (series of treatments) investment in transforming your chronic patterns or concussion. Treating one client per hour and a few people per day does not allow us to accept an arbitrary form of payment for services. Insurance reimbursement is arbitrary and we cannot make up for arbitrary reimbursement by seeing more clients per hour. And we do not desire the necessity for higher fee’s to make up for the time and cost of tracking down insurance reimbursement. HAS’s’s and Cafeteria Plans generally reimburse for this therapy. You may submit receipts for insurance, but as an alternative therapy, reimbursement rates are minimal and arbitrary

May I come in and try a few visits?

We fully recognize that it is a tough decision to invest in a therapy without understanding or experiencing it. MRT, by its nature of relieving tension step by step in the frame of the body, is not designed to bring step by step results. By relieving just a little of the tension in the frame of a musical instrument, for instance, you would not be able to judge the ultimate outcome by an incomplete job. It is the same with MRT. Getting paid to treat people a few times and not helping them is not our goal. However, making a living by finishing and transforming and changing lives is a joy!
